I could not figure out what I wanted to do with this coffee table I got for $10 at the local good will
I wanted to use this distressed look I found on a dresser in the homes and garden magazine but it included milk paint..which Home depot and Lowes both looked at me like I was from outter space when I asked for it. Apparently it is some kind of powder that is to be mixed with milk and creates an antiqued look when applyed with a brush. I did not have the time to order and wait for the milk paint to come. You never realize how important a coffee table is until you dont have on HAHA! so anyways I saw crackle glaze at home depot and liked the way that it looked so I decided to try it. I bought 2 colors one was a cream color and the other was honey almond.
1. i stripped the table with a good sanding it was bought painted black I just forgot to take the before picture!
2. I primed the table then...
3. Applyed the base coat (honey almond) let dry over night.
4. Applied a coat of the crackle glaze ONLY TO THE AREAS YOU WANT TO CRACKLE (be sure to not glob it on heavy or work it in to much when applying it with your paint brush) this causes the finished product to gum up it happened to me! after the glaze dries which should take a few hours give or take the temperature..
5. apply the top coat with a roller you can use a brush if you want to it doesnt matter, as the paint got rolled on the cracks immediatly started coming through! NOTE: do not try painting over the cracks that you see after applied paint this does not create more cracks(another mistake I made) it just covers area more
6. After all is dry after a good 24 hours apply a clear coat to seal it off and ta da! I absolutly love my table!

| Crackle technique reminds me of the new crackle glaze nailpolish kind of the same concept! I have become a little addicted to the crackle! |
| I love these pillows I found to match at Marshalls 2 for $15! |
